Can I use hemorrhoid cream on shingles?

HELP !!! I developed a rash on my torso over the weekend and I saw my doctor today and it’s shingles. The itching got bad yesterday, so I took some Benedryl… but the pain tonight is unbearable.
PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE SOMEBODY HELP ME !!!
Will hemorrhoid cream calm the stabbing pain?
There’s an all-night drug store on the corner. I’m at my wits end. My doctor wanted to give me percocet… but narcotics make me useless, so I said “no”.
I’m just taking extra-strength Tylenol and Benedryl and the anti-viral she prescribed.

Any cream with Hydrocortisone in it would help alleviate the redness, swelling and itching, but it is not a pain killer, neither are hemorroid creams, which IMHO, don’t do much.

Avoid contact with people until the rash heals. While you have shingles, you can spread chickenpox to people who have never had chickenpox.

Medications to treat shingles when the rash is present (active stage) may include:
